Coding Logic with Benji Bananas

The Coding Logic with Benji Banana is a gamified training program to teach coding concepts and programming logic to primary school students. It is a product from Innovative Education Council Oy. The company has decided in 2017 to make this product to support the new curriculum in Finland which included coding starting from Grade 1 onwards. Primary school teachers were searching for easy and fun to use tools which will help them save time to teach this complex topic to the children in an interesting way. While there existed many solutions for the pre-primary and post-primary school age going students there was a lack of tools for primary school age group. This course does not require additional coding skills from the teachers to start to teach it. It includes online games, offline classroom exercises and detailed lesson plans for the teachers.

“I want to share proven ideas and practices and, for my part, support the development of mathematics skills among elementary school students. For example, many teachers have certainly intended to implement the square meter themselves, but for one reason or another they may have missed it.”
